Tour Details

This is a tour for those who want to explore the Historical Villages of Portugal. They are located 300 km from Lisbon (3h30 drive), and we do not recommend visiting them all in the same day. You can choose to go only to Piodão or to Belmonte and Monsanto (1 hour away). It's a longer trip, so we recommend leaving earlier, around 7 am, and arriving at your chosen village at 10:30 am. We suggest 2 hours to visit each village. There are restaurants with local cuisine. To arrive in Lisbon around 8 pm, you need to leave your chosen village around 4:30 pm. It's a long trip, but those 6 hours spent in the villages are worthwhile because they are unique villages. Monsanto is considered the most Portuguese village in Portugal. The HBO series House of the Dragon, a prequel to Game of Thrones, was filmed there. Belmonte is the village where Pedro Álvares Cabral, the discoverer of Brazil, was born! From Belmonte Castle, you can see the beautiful Serra da Estrela mountain range. Piodão is a picture-perfect village made up of schist houses, slate roofs, and windows painted a vibrant blue. Perhaps the most beautiful village in Portugal. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: - This is a private tour in a passenger car for up to 4 travelers!
